Night temps are causing water temps to drop - but put on a heavier wet suit and jumped in
place was cleaned of all recent drops - guys pepper this spot after Labor day
I had to go for deep targets others missed - cranked
my sensitivity all the way up and moved slow - finally got a whisper of a target and came up with
the old gold signet ring - not far from it - hit another faint signal and I pulled a silver half down deep
started getting faint targets in one spot and was getting deep clad - then got a blast and tried
scooping target - looked down and saw odd shaped item on bottom - turned out to be a
butterfly knife - tide was coming in quick - turned and headed back and hit another spot with faint targets
pulled another half - then a silver quarter - then a silver religious medal. Got another whisper (slight fluctuation in
my background hum) and after three scoops straight down was surprised with 1956 class ring.
Was only in for about 2 hrs - I was happy :hello2:

Were you using the PI-Pro or the CZ-21 on the hunt?

Once again, great finds!

Now that's a Great 2 hours! Love the gold but those big silvers are sweet!!

Glad the cold is coming on, another month will weed out the pouchers..

CZ21 - in all metal -(auto tune) ground at 5 ...sensitivity 9.5
- my pi pro was stolen and though I got it back - they broke my headphones - they still work - just
don't stay on so its out for the count right now

Nice finds and glad you didn't stick that knife in your foot or hand.

Nice! Can you tell dates or types on the silver?

I don't clean much of my silver any more - this spot - most of the silver is from 40s on up
I know if I break crust off - will end up with some silver razor blades - sooo ...will probably leave as is
and they will end up in my display table at the end of the year
if it was one of my older spots with chance for it to be from 1800s - then I probably would

You gotta love those little whispers in your ears.....:icon_thumright: All three of my better finds the other day started out that way.

Silver halfs mean one of 2 things to me - if they aren't to deep - then you are probably in a virgin or semi-virgin spot cause others should not have missed
if place was hit - or if real deep at a pounded spot- they were out of reach for others and maybe there are other oldies (silver & gold) that are out of reach too
I personally have never hit a virgin spot (I may have gotten into a virgin area at a spot or two but never a virgin beach)- I usually go to the spots that others
got lots of goodies and say they cleaned out. - so getting a deep half at one of those spots gets the blood flowing.
Ive gotten no less than 34 halfs in the last 5 yrs - 33 in the water - 1 being on land

Good job Casper. Love the old gold. Water temps in my area are getting cold as well, but the gold keeps pushing me.

was bored and chipped away at the coins - 64 half - 43 half - stand. lib quart.
