Mark and I were back at it at the camp today, we spent the first couple of hours clearing another area to hunt. Today was a back breaker but we got it done.
My first target was a funky gold plated cuff link, I thought it was an odd thing to find there. A few minutes later I got a nice sounding nickle to pull-tab'ish bouncer, and to my astonishment out came a nice mens ring. I wasn't sure if it was real or not as I couldn't see a mark on it, but Mark kept telling me it was. When I got it home and washed the dirt off, sure enough, it's marked MIA10K No idea what the stone is, perhaps a garnet, but it looks like it's pretty old, maybe Victorian
After the ring, it was all down hill for me in the area we cleared, so I decided to freewheel it through the weeds and overgrowth. I ended up finding a nice Westmoreland Sterling silver spoon in the thick. A bit later I was under a tree digging up quite a few wheats and finally silver'd with a merc I also found a neat 1955 Richmond dog-tax tag, a Mexican 20 centavos coin, and not far from that another ring, unfortunately this one was a gold plated junker
The merc makes silver coin #33 towards my goal of 40 by 4/19
Thanks for looking and HH,
Brian
