Detector(s) used
I’ve used about all modern ones but right now: CTX 3030, White’s MXT Pro, XP Deus, Vaquero, White’s TRX
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
It has been very slow for me for finding silver coins this year, even though I have been hitting it hard.

I was waiting for repairs to my truck and learned that it was delayed. I had my detector with me and I took a long drive in my rental to a town that has a field adjacent to a playground that has produced tokens and wheat cents for me in the past. Once I was there, I decided to not hit the field because the kids were playing too close and I didn't want any teachers alarmed with me detecting, so I had to find something else to do. I ended up detecting in front of an old house in the ditch.

The first 1926 mercury was about 4 inches deep and almost under a tree root. It sounded really solid and rang in at 12.44 on my CTX. I almost gave up on it after ten minutes and I covered the hole but decided to give it one more swing. Ended up being about 2 inches from where I thought it was.

On the other side of the tree I found one of the wheat cents and then I covered the hole and swung back over it and the 1942 mercury was about 2 inches next to the wheat. The other wheat and lock was found in the ditch a little further past. Amazing that this is the second ornate lock that I have found in as many hunts.

It was nice to finally add to the silver coin tally. I haven't struck a really nice coin in the last 5 hunts at least. I will have to gain permission to hunt the yard the next time I am in town.
