I found this silver/ brass object in same area I have found 1700’s stuff. I Thought it might be part of a buckle or saddle related. I pounded area but no success finding the rest of it. Any ideas? Thanks

The ridge on the bottom of the brass piece; is there a hole or half of a hole where the break is? If so I would suggest that it's a fragment of a very interesting Georgian shoe buckle. I've dug several fragments with similar raised ridges and the break usually occurs at the hole since it's a relatively weak spot.
