went back to the farm field that has been giving up some good stuff from the early 1700's through the 1870's
i dug my first silver button but without any marks i am having trouble dating it
it looks like it maybe a hussars button or a dragoon ?
it is almost a half inch long and round
the metal is 800 silver and hollow
any button experts want ti chime in?

Cool button. Big blowholes in that one. Wish I could help dating but never saw one like it. My guess would be 18th century and maybe from some sort of officers uniform. But that's just a guess.

I have no idea either, don't recall one posted before in my 8-9 years here, one thing for sure it is cool.
Good find.

Not seen a silver version of an 18th C blowhole type, but that's what I think it is.
