Should I sell my Minelab Ex 2 and buy a deus?

Keppy and Fletch,
Yes the batteries are built in and yes they can fail and some do, but...
The batteries in the headset and controller can be replaced by the user, but it is best to send the coil in.
The coil battery is molded in and waterproof and to insure it stays that way send it in to XpAmerica costs about fifty bucks.
I had my Deus since 2011 and haven't had any problems with the batteries and there are others that have had them from 2009 without problems.
How many sets of batteries would I have purchased for my Whites or Garrett in that amount of time??
The savings on batteries alone just about paid for my Deus. lol
I would not let the batteries be a concern with the Deus and if purchased new it has a 5 year warrantee. What other detector company gives FIVE years!
The Deus is a darn good machine and right up there with the best of them...
Don't buy a Deus and I'll fallow behind you and pick what you missed....

It is getting harder to get repair parts for Explorer II

One thing I've found about the Deus is the parts and accessories for it are very reasonably priced... Plus the folks at the service center are both fast and pleasant to work with :)

And as was mentioned the batteries for the remote and headphones are user replaceable. And if you have some mechanical ability and are confident in your sealing abilities the coil battery is user replaceable as well.... but I suggest that you let the factory repair center take care of it so that they are on the hook if the seal fails and it floods that expensive coil.
