should I remove patina from copper wire?

Minelab Vanquish 340, Tesoro Silver uMax, Compadre, and BH Tracker IV.

Ex: White's Spectrum XLT, Tesoro Cutlass II Umax, and that circa late 70's red handled junk from RadioShack that started it.
I have at least 60 #'s in roughly 6ft length's of this old wire.

Call up your local scrap yards to find out the prices they're paying for #1 and #2 wire. If there is a substantial difference, like 20 cents a pound, it might be worth your time cleaning it. Also take into consideration how far you have to drive to get to the scrap yard. Hope that helps ya out a little.

Where I sell my scrap that would be number 1 just not clean and bright. There is ten cents diffrence in the price. wardon
 

thanks wardon.this wire was never sheathed.it scrapes bright copper.
 

I should bring a piece with patina on it to some scrap yards and see if they try to tell me it is #1.5 :icon_jokercolor: or #3 :laughing7:
