✅ SOLVED Shotgun slug?

Found this interesting gem while on a short hunt. I'm guessing a slug from a shotgun. It appears to have rifling marks on the side. The Star on the top is interesting.

Yep, a "rifled" shotgun slug. Of course, shotguns don't have rifling but the slugs were cast that way, I seriously doubt that they ever came out of the barrel spinning, but it made for good marketing.

The fins do allow some space for some compression if the slug has to squeeze through a tight choke, but they really get their stability from the weight-forward cross section like a badminton bird.

I've shot slugs that look just like that, right down to the star on the front.
