"SHOT WITH A REMINGTON RIFLE" disk?

Hello!

Yesterday, I dug this metal disk in the small town of Independence Oregon. I think it's made of lead ~ about 43 millimeters in diameter ~ on side reads SHOT WITH A REMINGTON RIFLE, and the other side reads SHOT WITH A U.M.C. CARTRIDGE.

Also, dug a 1922-D Wheat cent near it!

What's the deal with this thing? How old is it?

8^)

Pretty cool...Here is one reference. :icon_thumleft:

"Original brass trick shooting advertising token used by Remington trick shooters such as Billy Hill in the 1930's and 40's. They would flip these up in the air and plug them with their trusty Remington"

I see you found a CTR ring of the Church of Latter Day Saints. ctr ring.jpg

Very cool trick shooting piece. Sometimes you can find shot coins too. Shooting a half round notch in the edge on purpose was a real talent.

There's a video on youtube of Ron Leclaire doing trick shooting with a bow. Amazing stuff.
