Short after dinner hunt, "Golden" sunset
Hello all!
After work, and the son's doctor appointment, dinner done for me and the kids, the weather was beautiful so went up the school that is close by that I noticed recently had a few play areas out back that I didn't see the first time I hunted there last summer.
When I arrived, there were lots of kids playing baseball, but none playing in the play areas, cool! There was one fairly large play area, two sets of swings and a slide. I did see traces of a previous hunter sometime lately. There were some loose holes with nice trash presents in the bottom, he didn't remove his trash...grrr. Anyway, the good news, there were quite a few targets and I was finding a lot of coins.
I covered all the areas completely and found three nice keepers. First, a nice gold hoop earring popped out. When I got home and looked at it with the loop, it says 10K MEX, woowhoo! Next, a very light signal like a small piece of foil turns out to be a very thin gold chain from about 3 inches down. It's broke, no clasps on the end. Another woowhoo! Finally, under the slide, lying on top, a sweet silver chain and religious pendant stamped Sterling. A nice find to end the day.
I wasn't expecting much except to get out and have some fun and clear out my head from a tough day at work. They layed off 8 of my co workers today.
A great time was had in the 1 hour 45 minutes of hunting, $5.16 in clad 107 coins including a $1 Canada Looney, my 3rd of the year. I also got a double heart gold "china" pendant and another find... a piece of brass from 6 inches down that when I got it home and cleaned it, it was packed with dirt... it's a piece of a pot pipe, still partially filled with the illegal yucky. After the photos it got chucked deep into the woods behind my house.

Oh well, still have the wife and children, who are practically grown, to support me in pursuing a career in the railroading industry... 
I got laid off when I was 62 and haven't been able to find a job since...no one wants to hire an old guy. So I had to take early retirement which cut the soc. sec. by over 400 per month (ouch!). At least you don't live in Michigan where there are no jobs. 
But that is ok, I have become a clad hunter for better or worse because that is what the ground is giving me too! Great photos and finds once again!
