I'm fairly new to the hobby and have only been out less than 10 times in the past 3 years. I havent found a heck of alot except clad and a few random knick knacks. I currently have a cheap bounty hunter and am looking to upgrade to something more serious. I live in western washington and would mostly like to coinshoot and relic hunt. I would like to spend up to $500, but just like anyone else, I want to get my money's worth. Any suggestions on what to get? Also, do most detectors break down for storage or packing? I do some hiking and would like to be able to pack it easily. Thanks

I have a ace 250 right now but I plan on getting a tesoro cibola($425) or vaquero($525) tesoro's also have a lifetime warranty and they are light weight & go DEEP,

Shadow picked two good ones. The discount prices on the Cibola are 340 and the Vaquero is 420. The Fisher ID Excel is also a good detector for under 500.
