Hey Scuba, any idea of the scale in these photos to try to get an idea for how large these objects really are? I mean, they certainly look like planking, and bars or bricks of something. Any way to find the scale on one of these photos so we can try to calculate, say, how many feet long each bar might be, or the thickness of planking or things like that?
Have you been to the site at all to check it all out? Looks like several vessels laid up together in the shallows there for sure. Really cool stuff man!

unfortunately i have not been able to get to this site yet, and having hard time with the size or scale of things. as you can see the site is large. Making plans to go and check it out . Kinda funny I've been in Florida about four months and live in a private gated with guards adult community, surrounded by a moat with gators...and i haven't seen a government vehicle any where, till i posted these pictures on tnet...now i see at least one every day and sometimes on my block....i think I'm going to start taking pictures of them with the license plate number and post them on here......

Very unusual! What is weird is, all the planks or whatever are in very neat order. Usually in shipwrecks they are either not there anymore, or jumbled, or in the shape of a ship-long oval with pointed end. If you need anyone to check it for you, let me know. What it looks like, is an old dock or maybe a building that fell into the water. Is this in sheltered water, like a bay? If so, that might be what it is. If in open water, hard to say. It just doesnt look like any shipwreck I have seen.

Yeah I noticed that too. I mean it almost looks like the hull of a ship on its side...... but everywhere. I agree though, the scatter pattern isnt very scattery at all. Really interested to see what you come up with when you survey it Scubatreasure.

I concur, very unusual....and I haven't seen a site like this ever, been diving wrecks a long time......its location is near no buildings so that's out.....I'm new to diving Florida and not sure of the rules 3 miles out state, 12 miles out federal waters ....not sure but i think its in federal waters.....without dropping any names i have it from a reliable and knowledgeable source that these are ships....and after giving this location some more thought, it would have to be the way i would find it especially if they were blown in by hurricane this is exactly the way it should look , like a ship wreck graveyard.....all stacked up in neat rows...

i wish i could share that info... i have many, and i do mean many, years of doing this type of research and soon i will reveal my secrets on here , and boy are you gunna laugh at were i find some of my best satellite images......I'll give you a hint though as to how i got started...every time i went some where on the computer oh say any site that has a map to show you were they are , i would just go and check it out to see what kinda map it was and how clear of a shot or how close to the water and if i could possibly see thru the water and maybe how deep i could see into the water and so on.............

Well thank you Mr. Jody, and I'm happy to share these photos with you and am glad that you enjoy them, must also say that when I'm out there underwater and I come up to some object like an old anchor or a pile of rocks that might be ballast stone , I have to keep reminding myself....keep breathing...keep breathing...the number one and only rule you must obey is to keep breathing...lol

P.S. you might want to hold onto Mrs. Jody and take a deep breath cause I'm going to bring back actual underwater photos of this site possibly video.....so stay tuned

I have never seen any that had the clarity yours has. keep em coming! Let us know how it goes. If you need someone to proof it for you, I have all the equipment and a boat.

thanks Steve, I'm prepairing to list some more photo's and then the big trip to this location,I've never gone to a dive alone but this may be the first ....it goes against everything i ever believed in , but, for obvious reasons i think i might be better off alone on this one....wish i knew some of you guy's offline, could definitely use a buddy on this trip, if i were in NJ i would have a crew , but I'm new to Florida and all the guy's i knew down here left when Mel died back in 1998 or shortly there after.

could be a stray cloud* --- they do that sometimes

It looks more like an out-of-focus speck on or floating near the lens. It may have floated by during several of the shots of that area.

when seeking wrecks I look for shallow flatbottomed white sand areas -- the sun shine really backlights the wrecks showing them up as dark spots .
