Hello,
I found this today (and others) in my garden in the UK. The metal detector went berserk on all settings as I honed in to locate it. It was about 6” deep (16 centimetres). It’s feels heavy for its size too. Does anyone have an idea what material it is?
Many thanks.
Rob

Is it just me or does it look like poop!?
lol Chilli. 😁
That had crossed my mind. However, it’s just looked at it agIn and it definitely is stone-like. Perhaps petrified poop..?! lol
I’ve taken a pic of it in better lighting conditions.

Melted aluminum that has the distinctive look of it degrading from the soils.
Here is a piece of aluminum that has the same patina.

From buying scrap aluminum for a long period of time I have seen this type of casting/melt for being in a fire then buried then found then scrapped.
File a groove, put vinegar on it and see if there is a slight reaction (foam/bubbles)
