Hi. I posted this on the "Today's finds" forum, but thought I would also post it here. Found this in a virgin Confederate cavalry camp I have been hunting for about a year now. I was least expecting something like this to pop out and immediately was jumping and running around. lol This is a "Sheet Iron" CS Plate and according to my buckles book an R8 rarity out of a R1-R10. Which in the book means only 16-30 examples known to exist. You can read more about it here: Artifacts For Sale This sure made my year, and I'm sure it's all downhill for me now the rest of the year. lol Also beneath the plate (As shown in photo) found a complete intact two-pronged fork, part of a Richmond Spur and a pewter spoon bowl. There was more signals in the hole, but I couldn't concentrate and had to leave, lol, but will be back soon. Thanks for reading.
