I wouldn't have said silver, but collectables.. Awesome that you have a new teller who will hopefully give you some finds.. Just don't get her too wise or she might start sniping you..

Nice, although I've never asked a teller if they look for silver. One or two may have asked me. Not sure I would ask them, just ask them to set aside all halves for you.

She knows about silver. We have talked before about coin roll hunting, how many hunt the econ how bad it is getting ect,.She said that she would save them for me and I bring her donuts when she gives sliver. I have a good relationship with all of my banks and the tellers. Someone said a while back that it about the relations you build with the people it is true.

It's crazy to hear how many tellers know they are silver but could care less.. You won't hear any complaints from me, but it's interesting some dont try and capitalize on the situation..

For many it's too much of a hassle to sell one dime or on 40% half. Who wants to screw around with going to the coin store, or shipping to Ebay, possibly violating your bank's policy, all for a few bucks? Plus, I know it sounds crazy, but some of these so-called Customer Service Representatives actually enjoy giving good customer service. They enjoy establishing good relationships with their customers, and like making people happy. For many, it's the highlight of their day. Customers who actually reciprocate, bringing in treats or who stay to chat, make the relationship that much more special.

I agree with treats.. I love brightening up their day.. Is it policy for most banks or just the major players?

major, major, major players, where you dump the most, and you have a good relationship with in the firstplace, I mean dump like they see you more than any other customer in the course of a week. then give them a treat, and make sure no-one else already does this, or you look low, like a copy-cat.

At several of my banks, it's policy that tellers can't buy coins that come in (not that some don't regardless), and they set these coins aside to sell to favorite customers.

once you get talking to them they are pretty down to earth.I dont go through 500.00 a month on coin, i just bring them treats because i now they are going out of their way for me and let them know it.
