Was at my bank today and the head teller ask me if i had much luck with my $400 in half dollars i purchased several weeks earlier, and I told her not much. Found $40 of bicentennials that my penny coin collector neighbor wanted. So I sold them to him at face value. What are those worth? I cannot seem to find anywhere they are worth anything other than face value. Am I missing something?

Also I ask her about having any star notes and she produced 30 2006 $5 Boston Star notes in a complete sequence. With nothing to lose I purchased them. It appears from completed auctions on ebay these do sell at a nice premium. One guy sold six not in sequence for $52. Mine are brand new, uncirculated. So I guess the name of this game is just to keep on trucking and searching.

also the guy listed his as low serial numbers. IA 02795554*,IA 02795559*-IA 02795563*}

is that really low? mine are IA 02495440

Low is 4 leading zeroes. But 3 ain't too shabby. Yeah usually 4 or more.
Give that teller a pizza certificate :icon_sunny:

Nope, you aren't missing anything (unless they were proofs). Even trade for the both of you.

No, none of the above numbers would be considered low. As was mentioned, four leading zeros or more are usually considered low numbered. If I were you, I would keep a few for your collection and break the rest up into groups of five consecutive numbered bills. Put them up on FeeBay and see what happens. You will prolly be happy with the outcome.

Let us know what you decide.
