A lot of people will think that this stuff is junk. To me it is unique, dignified junque. The mining village is only a 10 minute drive from my house and was there for about 10-12 years in the late 1800's-early 1900's.
The copper dinner plate is the best that I have ever found. Other plates that I have found were bent and folded. I told my family that this was the worlds first frisbee as I found it a long ways over a bank from the house foundation.
The next are copper caps. The one with the stem is 5'' and has a L stamped on the cap.
Some tools from the mining village. A full size pick head. The smaller pick is a mining pick used in the drift mines. Other mining picks that I have found had initials on them . The initials on this pick are D.D. just to the right of where the handle was. And a hoe, cultivator and ax head.
The logging items were out and about in different locations.
Two of the 6 chains that I found in the last 5 trips. Two other chains had no hooks on them so I left them in the woods.
A gooseneck and a log stamp. I can't make out the lettering on the stamp but it should clean up real good so I can read it.
Yes, there is a chain in that glob of coagulated rusty mass. I will build a hot fire and put the chain in till it gets red hot. This will pop the rust off. I have no idea if there are hooks on it or not. If there are they are buried on the inside.
