Seven Devils Mountains

Has anyone done any prospecting in the Seven Devils? I hope to have some time this summer to do some backpacking and want to explore this area. Is there much placer gold to be found here?

Have backpacked and fished there, but not prospected. Some beautiful mtn lakes and good fishing. I can tell you that an area named Dry Diggings Ridge was prospected years ago with some success. However, it was only practical at the time to prospect in the Spring as the snow melted. Thru the rest of the year there was little to no water for panning. Hence the name "Dry Diggings". There was and is prospecting in the general region including across the Salmon river to the East around the old ghost town of Florence and throughout the general area.
