I just got these nightstands for free with the intention of painting them. As usual, I google any furniture with marks before I do any work, and found a single nightstand recently sold for $395 plus freight, and there is a pair on eBay right now with 12 watchers that is listed for $789. Can anyone tell me if these nightstands are actually valuable enough that I should clean them up and sell them as is, or proceed with painting without guilt? They are Drexel Heritage 124-630 Vintage Cherry. To me, they look like they are probably from the 80s, but I would love to find out more about them. Thank you in advance!

I know it's a Longshot, but do you possibly still have these cherry nightstands? I have 2 armoires and a long 10 drawer dresser, and only need nightstands to finish my bedroom

She was last seen on the forum in March of ‘23. I hope she didn’t paint furniture made from cherry!😱

Yes she was a one post wonder.

My first thought was "Why would you paint cherry"

It's a sin to paint over cherry wood in my opinion, or any hard wood.
