The D2 will go deeper for sure but if there is alot of iron in the ground it will just pick up that much more as it sees deeper in the ground, the 6x10 is better if there's more trash targets and the D2 picks up more EMI so if your hunting by power lines it will make more noise than the 6x10 for sure. I like the depth on the D2 though as I don't think I'm missing any deep targets which makes me feel good, the deep stuff ia usually good.
