Serious question

I spent a little over four years in Asia, Vietnam to be exact from 65 to 70, in Saigon the was a building called the "Tax building" where you could go and buy anything from loose diamonds to gold plates. I bought four such gold plates, they were the size of three by five cards and about as thick, I think at that time I paid 100 dollars each for them. Anyway just before I returned to the states I was informed that it was against the law to have
gold in this manner, you could have gold certificates but not gold itself (in the U.S.). So not wanting to take the chance I returned to the Tax Building and sold them back, did make a profit by the way. I don't think the law has changed any since probably gotten tighter. Side note, people in third world countries like Vietnam put gold in their teeth as a way to save money but I think it would be difficult to pull a tooth everytime you wanted money also you would run out of teeth after awhile. Anyway HH Bob.B

How come the folks who start these threads never reply back with what they've actually found. Hmmmm...
I see this all the time on here. They ask the question and then never stick around to finish it. ???

You know if you have stayed with the lattest news reports or with Gold Magazine and Undiscovered Mysteries.com..You will know that there has been some Big gold robberies of these times..Gold..Jewels and art...If you found this in gold bricks you should find out if any state around has had any recent bank robberies or Treasury break in...I keep close Eye on that stuff too..Not all but what I have read and heard there are a couple unresolved..If you have stuff from any of these that you ave found it is advised to leave it and report it to your government...No one will buy that stuff because you might be thought as a accessory to a burglary!NOTE!!!I am not a Police or an investigator and I don't want to be a part of this session anymore!!! becasue I don't want to be a part of this situation either!Just be prpared for lots of questions and do the research and by the way your finger prints will be all over this stuff....... not good!It may have been melted to this new form so it won't be noticed from the irrigional state it was before...!!!????I Hope you are being truthfull because that will be bad news for you! So good luck!

In texas you have to make a public anouncement such as in the newspaper.? Then if no one can prove it is theirs in 90 days then you can keep it.? (basicly it proves you didn't steel it, dates back to the cattle rustlen days.)

Also I am curious as to where you found it,? was it in a house or on a ranch public land under a tree?

PS some times pigs as they are called are not marked.? This is ruff cast bars or bricks that have not been refined. they do this to ease in shipping to the refiners.

Oh and you might check out Mel Fisher and the Atocha treasure (hint hint he won the court case with Florida adn got to keep it all)

HOLA:? ?I also have a theoretical problem, unfortutately I accidentally posted it in "My neighobrs cache".? ?Go there and let me know what your soloution would be..

If you want to know how the Gov't will treat you refer to the treasure find of Mel Fisher . To sell it easily you need to find an Indian (India indian) . They deal in gold all the time in their culture . Sell it in small amounts . They take great pride in donating it to make another dome on their houses of worship .They deal gold in dowrys as well as in making jewelry .

I recall a quote from Karl von Mueller that makes more sense as each day goes by. He suggested selling only enough gold to meet your needs and keeping the rest as a hedge against inflation. What we see happening right now with the eroding dollar and people putting their money into something stable rather than paper seems like a fulfillment of his "prophecy" that gold and precious metals will stand the test of time much better than paper investments.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Donna

Donna, I agree with your 2 cents worth :) Gold will always stand the test of time long after the paper is gone.

Will gold stand the test of the credit system. At this moment there are all kinds of ways to sell and trade gold. Take atvantage of it now! Soon paper and coins will be a thing of the past replaced by the credit system. Trading anything will be done thourgh credit.
Even gold. If traded or sold for credit and not paper then it will be recorded. Our system is headed that way. It will be set in place under the guides of removing crime. Namely stealing. T hunters will have no chose but to try to do it a (so called) legal way.

If this REALLY does happen, then all I can say is"GOD HELP US ALL!"
