found this one in the creek today. There were a lot of tracks in the gravel bed, this was found about 15 feet from the last tracks up in the bushes. I always try to check out the bushy areas also, arrowheads seem to get caught up in those little tree saplings, and roots. 4 and a quater long, and 2 and a half wide at bottom of the base. John

Flintfinder, I live in North Georgia and will be starting creek hunting soon as cultivated land is becoming scarce. Most creeks here are maybe 3'-4' wide and about 2' deep. The water is very clear; will I need to dig in the small sandbars if I don't find anything? I've never looked in a creek before, as there was lots of land to search. I also wonder about lake shores, as we are having a drought, and levels are low. Any advise would be appreciated.

thanks for the comments everyone. Gilerman, I dont dig in the creeks but I have seen insitu shots of people doing that and finding them. As far as the lakes are concerned, We have a lake in Mo. called mark twain lake, it is fed by the salt river. The Salt river is loaded with artifacts and they do get washed into the lake, and yes you can find them when the water goes down. I have buds that have found them by accident while fishing in this man made lake. Good luck to all of you. John
