Sen. Paul to Introduce Fourth Amendment Restoration Act of 2013

Crispin, what in the heck can we do, as Rodney King said "why can't we all just get along?". Many, many of us here though we argue - liberal or conservative - we really want a system which works. I have feelings for those who need me, but not those who use me. I have deep faith in the Lord though many would mock me - but that's their thing, not mine. What we need is more than what we receive from the ruling elite. We ALL know that here. Votes do not seem to count and haven't for years.

I have zero desire to see descent into insurrection, and that may very well be spinning uncontrollably. I do fear for the future for really the very first time in my life. I'm older, won't matter to me, my job is to die if necessary to protect those for whom I care.

Votes no longer mean anything, thus we are left with frustration we cannot absolve.

So, what can we do when we can no longer support anything we see within our government - graft and harvest?

You bring up some good points! Points that I will not quickly dismiss. Walk a few steps in my shoes, I know it is not fair to ask this of you, but you are now a friend, so consider it me asking a favor. I see the worst of society, I had one in my office today that I thought might try to kill me. The dregs of humanity, the drug addicted, the felons, they all pass by my house on the side of the road. I fear what is in front of me, staring me down.

However, I also see some of the best of society. Those who hurt from genetic illness, those who die for friends (literally, vets.) As an empath I share their pain. If Obama is the devil...so be it. We have a system in place to stop him. The biggest danger to our fellow Americans is from within. Your next door neighbor is more likely to kill or harm you then Obama...

I lost track of where I was going. Its Friday, long week, couple of Guinness. No real end point anyways...time marches on.

NF, do I actually believe this?

Well, let me add up the IRS, Benghazi, the election, the first election, Chicago politics, AP, Susan Rice, Hillary, Holder, Gun Control, Keystone, COAL - with a whole state unemployed, GM, The bail out, Feinstein's husband, Reid's family, Veteran's treatment, Obummercare, Sequestration, NSA, CIA, Drones, Egypt, Libya, Syria, abandonment of ISRAEL, Iran, Palestinian Statehood, China, North Korea, the whisper to the Russians - we'll be more flexible after the election, We won't listen to your phone conversations, Boston Bombers.....

Lord have mercy, just how much of this trash do I have to keep listing - IT GOES ON !!!

And it's all about your hero.

Let's try another one- we won't listen to your phone conversations - Bush, 2005 gave the power to eavesdrop on American phone conversations to the NSA via a secret order. Truth is i don't like that anymore than you do, but to the point - not Obama it was Bush.

We can do this all night long.

About Obama backing off on some of his campaign rhetoric to change some of this top secret spy BS, do you think, maybe for a minute, that once he got into office and was able to see behind the curtain, that it became apparent that there was no changing anything? Possible that it is all necessary to keep our butts safe? I ask, because now we've had not one, but two presidents who have authorized this level of surveillance. Presidents from opposite partys. Presidents with opposing ideologies and agendas.

If we trade rights and freedoms for false security the terrorists win with out another single bombing or firing a another shot......

No where in our Constitution which is THE LAW OF THE LAND does it say in time of danger these rules and articles no longer apply.

I am confident if you ask any terrorist and sworn enemy of the US whether his aim is the death of an American citizen or whether an American citizen has to give up a "right" to thwart his agenda, he would laugh at the idiocy of the very question.

I am confident we dont care a rats butt what a terrrorist thinks of our rights and freedoms, they are our rights and freedoms, not his, they are guaranteed by the Constitution which is the law of the land......

NF, only one out of the many, and the many I did not list. I view you as a hopeless romantic. Yet the romance is over.

And so shall it be as time shall reveal.

two questions: What should be done to prevent another 9-11?

How do you guys feel about the Bradley Manning/Wikileaks thing?

No Guinness here, but a long week of overtime, bed at 1900 hrs, up at 0200 hrs...

Once upon a time I studied psychology, been a study of many things - 8 1/2 years of college, settled in construction engineering where the excitement of battle existing on each day. I've lived in 29 states and have met around 30,000 people total - so I've met and known all kinds, druggies, victims, and of course people of means. A curse of mine is that I have little tolerance of the perpetually needy ones - get a life, if I could come from zero, so can they. So, in a sense I've hardened towards those who always seek yet never provide for others. The conservative in me. I once was a liberal too, but it grew tiring.

I care about people. But I care more about people who try to help themselves even in the smallest way.

Druggies - no tolerance. Felons - leave me alone. I agree with you on those who really need us. My children, I would die for without a moment's hesitation. Those who I consider my friends, for them I feel the same. Ah, an Empath :) Long stories there, I posted of my early life a few weeks ago - I can feel danger from across the street. I can know immediately who is friend, and who means me harm - served me well along the way. Reference there, you might look up one of my past posts about a month ago -maybe a couple hundred posts ago.

I do know there are wonderful people here, and some of those wonderful people may be in disagreement with what we each as individuals may post. Many who object to those posts of mine might be friends as well. I mean them no harm - yet from my point of view I'd wish to shake them awake to the reality of we've got to fix this. It went on before O, and it seems to accelerate now beyond what we have ever seen before.

All these others, Picker, NF, SC, JersyBen, and more - certainly they have something to contribute and make excellent points.

So do I, and so do others - though some are far more radical than I am. Mostly I merely post the latest headlines - so what the heck do I contribute but the latest controversies?

Yet, in contributing that, what I really wish is that we would all pay, independent of beliefs, attention to the path we are taking as a nation.

The current division is too severe for us to survive as a nation as that division evolves. Absolutely we will never agree on our philosophies, but we must agree on what should be a right course.

Truman, Ike, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, O - and most all of those before them, all had flaws - and some of them grievous ones.

But they were just a focus in our sights and views.

What we need as citizens is a unity of purpose to be citizens rather than subjects.

We had all the intelligence the NSA could provide, and a tip-off from Russia. But the Boston Bombing happened.

Maybe they were fixated only on my posts.....

Bradly Manning - really, I cannot abide with what he did so knowingly. Certainly other's will disagree, but I feel he committed treason and weakened our nation with his release of documents - he endangered lives.

IOW, you've got nothing!

Just another crackpot taking wild uninformed swings at anything that passes thru his field of vision.

Hopeless!

Put thread back on topic please.

In order to stay on topic, I disagreed with the Patriot Act from inception. But, I guess at the time of shock following 9/11 a whole lot of us let it go due to the fear of impending danger.

I've been addicted to studying history, world events, and the politics thereof since before Watergate. I personally liked Nixon, but that was because he ended Vietnam - but then revelations since then allege that he torpedoed Paris talks with the North Vietnamese under Johnson.

Now that I've been revealed as a hopeless crackpot, thank you NF for that. I view it as a compliment.

I plan to live to 104, 40 more years to draw out my SSN and Medicare :)

I'm 64, have smoked since age 8 - 56 years.

Just last Saturday, June 1st, 2013 I participated in a Warrior Dash right outside of Charlotte, NC, and finished.

Here's pic of me on the next to last obstacle on the course :)

I'll make that 104 :)
