Tori, that's a superb find. Are there any inscriptions? If you were able to track down the Marine that lost this your kudos would be immense.

NHbenz, so far nutin'. And trust it's not from lack of trying. I returned a class ring not too long ago to a gal in Ohio, lost it right after graduation while swimming in lake Erie in '81. Took me 2 years to find her! So, I'm not giving up on this one just yet!

Great find Tori, bet your heart was a thumping.

Good Hunting. Bet John was jealous.

SKD

SKD,

ha, his departing comment was, "damn, out hunted again" BUT, we had a bet, 2 bucks goes to the person with the 1st silver find (he started it)...and the Marine ring I don't believe is silver. YET, he found a silver angel charm. &*^$$^*%

So maybe I didn't out hunt him :(

He has yet to hear what happened as I left the hunt site yesterday, WOW, talk about a serendipitous moment, it'll blow his mind...I know it did mine.

Hope all is movin' and groovin' on yer end!

Nice ring, should clean up nice. Congrats

A very nice find Tori, that ring has been in the dirt along time , Im surprised someone hasnt dug it up befor you as its a school that gets plenty of presure by by at least 2 other detectorists than myself, but Im happy it was you that dug it out of its hiding place.
That makes at least 7 rings that have came from that playground this year that I know of, and Im sure theres more to be unearthed.
As far as first silver or gold ,your safe ...hahaha my angel charm is a cheepie Im sure ,cant wait for our next hunt so I can claim my 2 bucks haha. kib

Hey John! (kibitzer)

The ring comes up as Nickle on my other detector.

Now, ya ready for THIS story? Remember we passed an area on our way to the schoolyard? It was to the right and I mentioned it would be a great place to artifact hunt? Well, despite how tired I felt something told me to pull into the job site. I did. Noticed a p[ick-up truck parked further back on the property. I strolled that way hoping it was the owner. A man was at the retention pond with his 2 yr. old son. I yelled down at him and asked if he was the owner, he said no, but he's the excavation project manager. Then he said, "you look familiar" (I'm thinkin', yeah right)...then he added, "you were at Silver Beach last weekend and I asked you about your Fisher"

What are the odds of THAT happening?????

Anyway, he said I could hunt the place as long as it wasn't during business hours. So,I went yesterday...didn't find much ( a few cool rocks) but no artifacts, yet:)
