Hi all!

Dug a field in Connecticut that yielded a cool hard times token and a Connecticut copper in the past. This time it gave up silver, in the form of a semi-key date barber dime in pretty kickass condition:

I also dug a very slick copper. After hitting it with some boiling peroxide I can sort of see some kind of a right-facing bust. Do you? I have the coin orientated in what I think is the correct obverse position (the back is totally shot):

Finally I found this two-piece cuff button... literally in two pieces. :laughing7: I can't make out the markings on the front. Looks like a moon(?) and maybe the letter 'R' or something? The reverse side of the button says WATERBURY BUTTON CO.

Thanks for looking, and all opinions are welcome!

Very nice finds, that last one is a GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) button.

Nice GAR button and an amazing looking Barber Dime! Too bad there's no detail on that copper... one can only imagine what it was!

Great finds! The Scoville company in Waterbury must have made millions of buttons. Our CW hunters find Scoville buttons for both armies. I’ve been told (but I haven’t verified) that Scoville was also involved in the manufacture of torpedo parts during WWII.

Unfortunately, this Connecticut soil really eats up those large coppers. The few that I’ve found have barely any detail left. It’s either the soil or those miserly Connecticut Yankees who wore the coins smooth while rubbing them in their pockets :laughing7:

That copper with the right facing bust looks to be a KG l. That is an early one!

Congrats on the silver and old copper! :occasion14:
