Selling your scruffy looking 40%ers

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Silver is bad to the bone.
Beauty is not only skin deep.
When they melt them, they look worse for a few seconds until they reach a high temperature. Cheers, Jim

If sold for melt value, silver is silver. As long as they can read the date and know its a 40.

Put them in a tumbler for a little while, they will come out look much much better.

It is a device that MD'ers use to clean their dug up clad coins. Hobbyists also use them to polish different types of stones.

I will buy them off you, I am currently offering 80% of face value.

You are offering 40¢ each?

Right now my local coin store is paying $1.98 each.

That wouuld be some MDers. I don't waste my MDing time tumbling my MD coins. I put them in my sand scoop, shake off th loose dirt and they are ready for the coin machine.

LOL.......Now that's funny!!!!! Although I doubt he gets any takers at that rate......ha! I am sure he meant 80% of melt value and not face value.

No, I meant face, Its more funny that way, I always get very confused looks when I say that. Someone years ago said that too me and I just cracked up.
Never had a taker on that one. But I must admit It has taken some people a while to realize what I just said!

I generally offer people 90% of melt for gold, %80 for silver. more for larger lots, it all depends.
