Just saw an add in an online classifieds in my area for unopened boxes of halves for $600-
Dang wonder if they will sell it? Maybe I should put up a couple of my boxes cause a $100 profit is way better than a stinkin skunk

people sell unopened boxes and mwr's for similar profits on ebay too. Could be they weigh the rolls or boxes to try and determine if there is any silver inside before selling.

I personally would never buy that....I knwo that isnt what you are talkiing about, but If the sell for 100 over Face...i would sell the shiii out of them...i wouldnt be trying to weigh them like i think most do. I would be happy if someone found something...but I would be more happier with a 100 dollar profit for simply going to the bank

Weighing a box I think would be a bit dificult unless there is a bunch on ag in it but for only a handful of 40% not sure- I can see weighing individual rolls much easier-
Im going to give it a couple days and then contact thenperson and see if they sold it-
Maybe ill start selling rolls instead of a full box- hmmmm

Don't be that guy!

As in weighing the rolls and then selling? Na I wouldnt do that- im not that nit picky- but selling a box for $600 or a roll for $12 if I could get a couple buyers I sure would be that guy

IMO there is no difference between people who sell all those "unsearched rolls" and people selling boxes/rolls of half dollars. The word "sleazy" comes to mind. There are a ton of legit ways to make money involving coins, and no offense to anyone intended but preying on the novice coin collector is lazy and borders on deceitful.

Well, i sure the hell dont trust any on Ebay or Cl doing that...but at the same time, I have about 1800-2000 Wheats i wanted to sell once, and they were prtty much unsearched, meaning i went thru one night and looked at alot of them, never sorted them or anything, and ended up throwing them all back in the bag....But I know i would feel like a putz trying to sell them..

And I wasnt saying this is going to be my new venture...its not worth it and would be short lived

All depends on how you sell it. I would just list it exactly as it is, 2000 circulated wheat cents various years and mint marks. No need to feel like a putz!

I would sell the boxes on ebay but the fees are so large you make like 20 per box tops
