..Well some one said it how much you might need the money............. But with me i sell every thing i find silver ..gold .. or any thing i find i do not collect i don't like clutter and so i just sell every thing...... That is why i look for it ..... TO sell it ....... not to keep it....

Iron Patch - on that point - what do you think is a reasonable period of time to leave something up for sale? I've noticed that we get burned on some items at auctions (on ebay) and have begun to list them as buy it nows at higher prices. Trying to figure out how long is long enough to know that I've over priced it.

What you do is list it as good til cancelled so it doesn't end and judge the interest by how many are tracking. As strange as it seems many people track fixed price stuff. Almost all I sell has a pretty decent size market so if I only see 2 or 3 tracking after a couple of months chances are it's going to be tough to sell. But if I see a dozen, then I feel a little better and think it's just a matter of time before someone pulls the trigger. Other than that I just go by gut, and sometimes I might have things on as long as a year or two, but part of that can also be that I have too much going on and just never got to it. Then there's other stuff I'll clear just like a normal business because I think I'll probably get as much at auction as i'll ever get, and would rather put the cash into something else. Once you do the store thing a while, if you tend to sell the same type of stuff, things start to become fairly natural and the choices easier.
