Found these all together in a hole about 9 inches down.

Seem to have some memory of them, but cannot place it.

If they were all in a bunch and perhaps dragged is what I am thinking. The wire is wound around and ends with

the two wires each forming a hook.

Note the two on the right that are together.

Any help appreciated.

all have a good un........

The Part That Would? Rap around The Metal Poles .

I don't Know IF that is What they are Tho.

For What I know , I guess They Could Be Antique Heater Hose Clamps? :D

I think it might be a "drag" (not sure if that is the proper technical term) but it does seem a lot like what sometimes is made out of metal rings connected by short pieces of chain that is dragged behind a disk harrow, it is meant to level the dirt after it has been cultivated to better prepare the soil bed for planting. It could be a cheaper maybe even homemade form of that farming impliment. Just a guess, but that is what comes to my mind, in the "seem to remember" or "looks sorta like" catagory.

Re-bar ties.... Take a little hand crank thingie and hook it through the litte loops on the ends. Give it a couple of cranks and it twists it up tight. They are for making a grid with re-bar for pouring concrete. ;)

? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? I think your right. :)? All the links were connected together at one time and it was dragged behind a tractor.It would have been about 4-6 feet wide and a little longer in length,depending on the size of the implement(harrow) it was dragged behind.I don't think it's a homemade version though,just old.-good luck and H.H.? ? ;)? ?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

This is what a rebar tie looks like today.
http://www.americanwiretie.com/wireties.htm

A harrow or drag looks like this. Unless the guy was going to pull it with a pedal tractor, the little wire things would never work. Every time they caught a rock or a root, it would rip it to shreads. I have a harrow drag that was made in the twenties and it is made just like the ones in the link below and was made of 1/4 inch round, spring steel rod, not wire.

I think they are the rebar thingies, but they remind me of the wire that goes around the cork on a bottle of champagne, but probably too big? JIM aka KS

That's it! I have looked at this post several times and it just looked so familiar! The wire thingies that go around the bottle!

Being a connoisseur of fine wine I would say that they are not from wine bottles. Thickness is wrong and no reason

for the two hooks on each one.

Speaking of wine reminds me of my last fine bottle of "Boone's Farm", 2005+ vintage(peach), twist off cap. Boy

was that a bad morning after. ;)

A fine wine has at least three threads on the screw cap while a cheap wine has only two! Monty

Sorry, it was just pointed out that I DO know the difference... Monty is close, but just a little off.

The real difference is this: Fine wine has an aluminum cap and cheap wind has a plastic cap!

Think about it... Boone's Farm = Aluminum , MD 20/20 = Plastic

Dig Em All,

your mention to MD 20/20.......we use to call it "MAD DOG 20/20", yes for a true connoisseur it was the Holy Grail

of a fine wine. A case MD 20/20 was darn near the Ark of the Covenant, and produced mystical happening

among

a group of people gathered to share in it's bounty.

I think the wire twists look something like the rebar ties I used in the old days.
It is very hard to think right now, I am having flashbacks to my college days and those mornings after "Mad Dog Nights"
30 years isn't long enough to dull the pain or diminish the fun.
