Today I found my second Indian Head penny. I don't know the year, but I imagine it must be from the 1890s to 1907s. If I can find out the year, I'll let you know.

I also found this thing that looks like a coin, but I think it's a token. You can see a few words on it, but who knows?

Great finds - looks like the Indian could be a 1887 from here.

If it was mine ... I'd give it a light brushing with Andre Pencils or Extra Fine Steel Wool.
I've cleaned countless Indian Cents using this method an got good results most of the times.
There looks like there's some good detail under the crusty material.
If you decide to clean the coin this way - just go very lightly and you should be able to read the date.

Thank you very much, I will try to clean it with a toothpick, and if I don't see any results I will try your idea.
