Wherever you are hunting, you are killing it!
I stumbled onto a very good old spot. The funny thing is I've known about it for years and never got around to checking it out myself. My old digging buddy told me about it over 20 years ago & said it was beat to death. I guess it pays to check for yourself.

That is a nice pile of lead. I'm sure you remember the old days when relic hunters, myself included, cherry picked spots leaving the lead and concentrating on buttons and other relics. Digging lead back then was like digging memorial pennies today.
If I had it to do over I would have dug more lead signals.

Thanks. That's what I was told. You old timers didn't want the lead. Most of the places I'm hunting have been pounded for years with the best available VLF detectors made. I'm using a pulse machine & cleaning up. I've dug thousands of bullets & only have 8 or 9 dug plates. Those old machines didn't miss many plates buddy.

I got out to my new spot today. It's turning out to be pretty good for Confederate lead. I tried to dig a button but only found a finial.
My oh my .

I'm at a loss for words , I'm excited like I was in the late 70's watching Monday Night Football Half Time Highlights .

You seem to be keeping the Civil War Section alive here all by yourself .

Keep em coming . LOL
