My first detector is an AT Pro and have had it for about 1.5 years. A lot of fun and interesting finds.
The learning curve was slow for me but I think I have it down now.

I have a condo in Myrtle Beach on the water and would like to leave a detector there. Mostly dry sand
hunting and do wet sand as much as the equipment permits. I also intend to start searching inland there.

So I am going to buy a second detector and leave one of them in Myrtle and keep one here in Ohio.

Price point is open but 1000 target. I have got confused whether to do pulse or AT Gold or to make a
jump to Minelab 3030.

Any advise will be appreciated as right now I have frozen due to information overload.

If you thought learning the AT Pro was slow for you the CTX3030 will be a real challenge. Both the AT Pro and AT Gold would be fine on dry sand but neither are well suited for wet sand. I have a CTX and it is a great machine but I am still learning it. Why not another AT Pro for the beach house when you land hunt and an Excalibur for wet sand and water hunting? Getting both of these brand new would cost a few hundred less than a new CTX. My two cents.

I never thought of 2 machines! I thinking another AT Pro for now and I'll rent an Excalibur for a couple days next trip.

Thank s for the input.

You can look at the Sandshark by Tesoro, that would be a great machine for wet sand and water. You could look at the Tigershark as well. Terry Solomon on TNet could give you the low done on both machines.
