Went back to the colonial site and trash pit I recently discovered and started to dig out the pit(definitely a chore and not sure I have the patience lol ) however found some cool things about a foot down . Looks like an old broken mallet bottle ? The beautiful knee buckle was down there as well as the pewter spoon as well as this porcelain piece with gold inlay(assuming it’s 1700s or very early 1800s as nothing in and around this site is anything after that. Started detecting around the site and popped out another nice cut silver and a some period buttons and star saddle mount. Not sure what the copper piece with the stars is . Everything seems to be concentrated in a very small area as the extended fields don’t yield anything. Very strange . Maybe a tavern site ?

Nice finds! I find it odd that those cut silvers would turn up in a trash pit, but it definitely seems to be the norm based on what I read on here. I wonder why that is?

WTG on a great hunt! We got almost 11" of snow here & temps down to -10* with the wind chill.

Awesome Colonial finds!

I like those old finds1 I remember seeing a shaving mug with the decorative bottom like the one you found. I wonder who the lady on the button faces is? Probably not Liberty?
