Sebastian area conditions

The benthic survey was required to get our permit from the DEP. This is for our offshore exploration lease in Vero Beach.

I have heard many stories of artifacts found in the Indian River, including cannons.
Bob Marx has had people report to him of finding gold coins while "clamming" in the river.
Steven Shouppe claimed that when pirate Henry Jennings raided the 1715 fleet salvage camp at the Palmar de Ais, his raiding party came up the Indian River in shallow draft boats, not from the ocean side.

The old Sebastian inlet was located about 3 miles south from the current one. Historian Doug Armstrong said it was in the vicinity of the current Ambersands beach access. If you check the maps, there is a prominent land mass that sticks out into the river (now occupied by a private mansion) and has a small protected harbor, which is called Spanish Harbor.

Hmmmmmmm, so that would mean the Cabin wreck is not the Flag Ship. Interesting.

PyrateJim,

the galleon you are looking for is close by.plus a large silver bar was found in the area.i have the exact location.talking to the ancient ones of sebastian pays off sometimes.call me tomorrow after 11am an ill tell you more about it.

I have spent some serious time in this area and know that at one time there was a AIS Indian village on the western edge of this area.
There are several shipwrecks in this area.
Good luck.
