Metal Detecting
Monday and Tuesday I worked some long hours, so I let my co-worker know I'd be in at noon today.

I headed out to the City and ran into the daily backup on the JFX that starts well above the city/county line.

My intention was to head to a park in the south of Baltimore but the crawling backup would have taken a chunk of time to do and I really had just two hours to detect.

Hopping of the expressway early I was at another park in about 15 minutes and detecting by 9AM.

The area I went to is one where I've searched repeatedly with the Fisher F-75 and found a good number of Indian Head cents. The F-75 also got me silver there before.

First good target dug was this 1910 wheat. IMG_6800.JPG
Next target, a flat button without shank, very toasty, just like most of the Indians that come from this spot.

IMG_6792.JPG The word "GILT" is visible along with some arrow heads and two concentric circles.

After the button I got an 1891 IHC and I would eventually dig two more, an 1887 and an 1865. The '87 is the best of the trio.

So I'm finding these high-tone 30s IHCs with the Equinox 600 in Park 2,, Sensitivity 20, multi-frequency and 5 tones. These coins are turning up in areas I've been over several times with the F-75.

Another signal in the 30s had me thinking another IHC but this time it was silver! …… An 1882 seated dime.

Nice to be "seated amongst the Indians" today. :)

Thanks Ken! That's the first "seated" I've found in this park since you and I hunted here on that cold day before you headed to Jersey.

Thanks washintonian! Once I flicked a little of the dirt off it looked to have some decent detail. HH & GL!

Thanks DParson05! Keep swinging! Always a thrill! HH & GL!

Thanks park pirate! Nothing spells "park pirate" to me more than finding "old" silver there! :)

Thanks Rook! Agreed! The skeeters were after me as I dug. With all the rain here and mild temps they're still very active. Didn't think to use bug spray. Just kept diggin'.

Thanks Hawks88! Looks like a "Fine" condition, probably lost around 1890. A very interesting part of the park to hunt with very few coins after 1900; most are Indian Head cents.

Great work! 🙌 Variety IS the spice of life. 😁

Wow a trio of IHP's and a seated! Awesome finds! :icon_thumleft:

Congratulations! The 600 is a monster, just last night I found two silver Washington quarters in a trashy area that others including myself have worked.

Nice finds, congratulations! :occasion14:
