Went back to this late 1800's early 1900's picnic area I discovered a few years back. I decided to pick it apart with my dfx and basically dig everything but iron. Finds of the day, only dug one pull tab and half a bottle cap. 012.JPG 008.JPG 009.JPG 014.JPG 015.JPG 017.JPG 020.JPG 1864, 92, 92, 97, 01, 03 IH's. 1900 V nickel. 1892 barber dime and a 1888 seated dime.

At first I thought the horse shoe jewelry thing was gold but it sure looks plated to me. Yeah this site is probably the best I have ever hunted. I did find a thin gold band / ring a while back. That was a crazy find. I located a larger piece of iron and as I was digging for the iron the small gold ring popped out above the iron. My md probably never picked up on the gold. I wish I could share all the finds from this site but everything is currently packed away in storage, maybe someday.. Im sure people would get a kick out of that. What was lost in a late 1800's early 1900's picnic grounds.
I'd be dizzy if I found all those beautiful coins at once and is that gold to boot too? Great spot, I'd hit that a bunch of times more after a hunt like that!

I have used both at this site over the years mostly with the Garrett. Lots of great finds with the GTI! I only have a 12" coil at the moment for the Garrett so I figured I would get some time in on the Whites. I like to use the GTI with the 12" coil for the larger deeper stuff because of the image depth size feature it has. This last hunt I was using the DFX with your standard 9.5" coil in relic mode.
Nice finds!! I would take that kind of haul any day of the week. Did you get them with the GTI or the DFX?
