Went back to this late 1800's early 1900's picnic area I discovered a few years back. I decided to pick it apart with my dfx and basically dig everything but iron. Finds of the day, only dug one pull tab and half a bottle cap. 012.JPG 008.JPG 009.JPG 014.JPG 015.JPG 017.JPG 020.JPG 1864, 92, 92, 97, 01, 03 IH's. 1900 V nickel. 1892 barber dime and a 1888 seated dime.

One of the better or rare finds from this site is a 1867 shield nickel with rays. 021.JPG 022.JPG Found this a few years ago.

A very cool assortment of finds!!

Im almost certain I was the first to md this site. It has been very good to me. Yes this site is public land accessible to anyone with a md. Makes me think I should go over some of the local parks which I have avoided figuring its all hunted out. Im not trying to sound greedy I guess its the thrill of the hunt for me and the history of course.

Spectacular hunt, finding IH here in Vegas is pretty rough, (jealous) great job on your finds. Congrats.

Nice spot you found there - impressive!

That is a sweet spot.Congrats.HH.

Found my first shield this year also.

Nice haul man!

Nice. It is nice to find a old rec area like that. A old swimming hole/picnic area would be a dream to find.

Its all about knowing your machine..... AWJ said it best. Go out and buy the best detector you can afford and get to know it well..

Now those are some sweet old coins Helix.
Well done,
MM

I "cherry picked" hard for the big silver few years ago... I found a couple of seated quarters, barber half.. 024.JPG 025.JPG

I'd be dizzy if I found all those beautiful coins at once and is that gold to boot too? Great spot, I'd hit that a bunch of times more after a hunt like that!
