Season 9

Fire Laird, more air time for the blonde
Laird wasn't fired tonight, but Vanessa has made an appearance. Also a mechanical engineer wrings some additional intelligence out of Zena Halpern's famous map. Coupled with another Geo-magnetic survey, they identify another area eligible for more study near lot 4.

Continuing to find wood in the Dunfield spoils, and a possible stone road. I suppose the area under the Dunfield spoils will now be declared holy and the Dunfield spoils will be added to the Stop Dig zone.

Ha ha..

Thanks Mike

It is difficult to believe they will find anything of treasure related significance into the piles of waste left by Dunfeild... If he did not find gold and treasure in it I imagine it means it is not there...

They never really talk about Dunfeild in that he did a lot of actual scientific research as well as digging a very big hole. He showed the water in the pit was coming from further out in the ocean and not from Smith Cove (By analyzing the water). The Laginas never have tried anything like this. Even the one dye test they did was very poorly done. On small cup of dye and very limited checking of where it could come out. I suppose they simply do not want more evidence that there is no evidence of the money pit legend being true.

They seem like they are running out of things to keep the cash cow of the TV show giving them riches...

That map is a fake according to the guy that gave it to Zena in the first place

The kicker about the Dye test they did in bore hole 10x that Dan Blankenship dug is that a year or so later when they put a diver down there once it got down to narrow part of the hole there actually was a plate covering the hole that they did not know about. Would make it hard for much of the dye to get into the underground water system in order to show up anywhere else around the island.. Had they lied and said here is some dye in smith's cove and then find out a plate was coving the hole, well we'd have known the "fix" is on, or they just wouldn't have shown that part of the dive...

On the last episode, At least Four 10 foot Dia. cans are going down... soon...we shall see

The Dye test was actually well done by the Laginas - adding dye to a water flow coming from a 6 inch pipe, and measuring for parts per million. Then actual flows can be calculated. A 1000 gallon tank of dye would not have added any information to the result.

They would of had a better chance of seeing if it come out on other parts of the island. Like the earlier searchers that saw the die coming out on the opposite side of the island. That small amount of die would not have been visible if it was being released in the open water after traveling through the underground cavoites for that distance. There would be very large volume of water between where the tipped in the die and where previous reports of die being seen were.

Someone beat me to the punch about Robert Dunfield. He dug the pit area to a depth of 134 feet by 100 feet wide. They indeed never mention how his mammoth project erased almost any hope of finding enough information in the pit to make sense of shaft structures. They always treat the drilling like they are going into virgin ground. Also, why do they never find voids? You would think intact shafts would have voids.

The other problem are the "gold" objects they are finding. Why junk gold, not coins or solid gold? It makes no sense. Kind of looks like stuff you would find if someone was seeding the pit, not to say this crew, but maybe someone in the past.

The Laginas should use this map the treasure is clearly marked. The big RED X...

The fake map used quite clever wording and positioning to create multiple interpretations. Well done, fake mappers!

They have found voids. Last year or 2 they were drilling 6'' holes and trying to follow the "void" to the MP and or Chapel Vault area. If you have even seen pics of Dunfield's hole with him and Dan B. in it, it might have been 100' wide at the top but it was no where's near that at the bottom

Except for the fact the hole was covered by a piece of plate metal covering the hole once it got past the 8'-10' sections of pipe..Diver had to move it before he could continue down to the open area below Dan' B pipe shaft.

So as water was pouring into the shaft from the 6 inch pipe, the water level was rising?

The Lagina's did 2 dye tests. The first one was S02,Ep06 where they poured the green dye into 10X, which turned out to be blocked off, the dye was still sitting there when they sent divers down later, and no dye was seen in the ocean anywhere.

The second test was S06,Ep15, when they put a lot of water down C1 to get some water flow going, followed by rhodamine dye. Gary saw red water issuing into the excavated area in Smith's Cove and they collected water samples there. They tested the samples with fluorometry, and stated it proved the sample contained dye (sure looked like it).

I was refereeing to that second test

Yes they showed that a very small amount of water was escaping in Smiths cove area that had dye in it. But made no attempt to find out where else the water was coming from. As pointed out by Mike above as they were pumping in water the level was not rising so there should of been a lot of water going somewhere else with the dye. The amount leaking in Smiths cove was tiny.

In order to discover where else water was getting to those cavities they would of needed a much larger amount of dye and actually looked around the edges of OI to find where the dye was escaping into the water. They tried this when they put the dye in 10X (they used a helicopter) but never made any effort when they did the 2nd dye test.

If the dye was escaping from other parts of the island (as was found by earlier searchers) then the water was not coming from flood tunnels. They actually proved this as the water they were pumping in did not cause the water level to rise and no significant amount of water was coming out of the dry area of Smiths cove (as they had the coffer dam). So it must have had other ways in and out of the area they were putting the dye in the hole and pumping in water.

It "suggests" that the ground is very porous and the water level to that area in the holes they have been drilling comes from all/multiple points around the island (including smith cove). It would of been very easy for them to check this by using more dye and seeing if that dye was escaping from other areas of the island into the ocean. They chose not to do this. Why? They did it back when they tried the dye test in 10X why not the 2nd time.

My conclusion is they either did not want to find dye escaping on other parts of the island/water or they did find it and chose not to tell us because it did not fit with the narrative of water coming from flood tunnels.

If I were them I’d just try to locate the Chappel vault. Everything else seems like a waste of time.

They all ready found the Chappel Vault and it's known location when they brought up that large chunk of metal with the 5 ft. grab. They know where it is located. They know which side of the Money Pit Chappel built his shaft. All they have to do is sink the four 10 foot canister shafts on that side of where the 5ft grab brought up the iron structure from the Chappell Vault. This 200 year old story is coming to an end and it is not going to end the way everyone wants it to------THERE IS NO TREASURE DOWN THE MONEY PIT.

What episode was that? I don’t remember seeing it.
