Hi Gang,

Having fun learning the new MXT, was playing around in a San Rafael park (park since 1901).

Found lots of lead, some pulltabs and bottle caps, a few buttons, one shirt button (push thru kind), one small pinch clasp, and one whatsit. It is folded and clamped, has scrolling on the front, and writing on the back. Writing is C. R. Harri (could be Harris), Pat, Dec 22, 1885. Appears to be some kind of clothing clamp like for the end of a strap... Any Ideas?

Looks like an end off of a shirt stay. They come in sets of four and were mostly wore by military men to keep their formal uniform shirts from coming untucked. they were attached to the bottom of the shirt and then to the top of your socks. 2 in the front and 2 in the back. I believe that this practice started in the late 1800`s and is still in use today.

nice finds - like the buckel,

I think they're great finds! A find is a find...
