Went back to the "Hollow" yesterday, the same area where we think they is (may have been) a wreck to see if the swells from Bertha shifted anything around.

It was good to find an uncovered, fully intact bottle! very fragile with hairline cracks. not sure how much longer this would have lasted being exposed on the seabed 60ft down :dontknow:

I just love the "curvy" lines of handmade glass! :occasion14:

It even seems to have the remains of the cork? (maybe just sea debris though!)

Found the usual assortment of shot and nails as well as a weird "hammer" shaped thing - will see how it cleans up today!

Found two buttons too - shame no markings are visible and the clasps have eroded away, but it gives added evidence to what's possibly down there! :skullflag:

Thanks for looking!

I've watched the shows where they use those blowers to clear away the sand to find the treasure. Wonder how you would fix something up like that if you had an outboard motor and small boat? Watched a video on you tube where a guy used a sea scooter to blow away sand and mud down to bedrock in a small stream, but it wouldn't be feasible in your situation.
I'd love to find an old bottle like that and glad you rescued it before it was a total loss. Happy & safe hunting.

Thanks

unfortunately a blower is out due to the need for utmost discretion! nothing I do is illegal, but I don't want to share my sites with anyone!

I have used my underwater scooter (DPV) to blow sand before but you have to wait a bit for the vis to clear back up!
And by the way that looks like a great spot to keep hunting!

just ordered a new battery for mine, so may well try that

BVI, I don't recall you mentioning in any of your threads that you have access to and are using a metal detector under the water.

Have added one of these to your inventory of tools?

Don't go anywhere without my coil!
