scuba show in rosemont

Hey Good lookin' out Bomber! I personally need a wetsuit myself... but I don't want to spend a fortune on one!

<- EDIT: wow, drop that zero and get with this Hero! (that's so dumb, why would 500 posts make me a hero?)

Sounds good Bomber, is it at the house of Stephens out there?

Rootmaster Brett, you are not a hero by virtue of numbers, but by the quality of your work here!

brett, check out Liesurepro.com,don't believe the online price, when you talk tp customer service they drop the price about 1/2

Sounds like good times. Definately worth checking out. And Tyskie's afterwards...can't miss that. :occasion14:

Rich, are you making it to the show? It sounds like it'd be a great time, and now I've got a little more reason to show up. Thanks for the heads-up!

Joe

Hey Bomber. I just read your post. I will be buying a water detector soon and was thinking about purchasing a wet suit. Depending upon my schedule, I might see you up there. If I can make it, I give you a shout. PJ

Wet or Dry suit?

Here's a question for you water MD'ers... wet or dry suit? Please answer in one sentence or less... I don't want my laziness in researching this topic to be rewarded too much.

one long sentence=$450.00-$1000 for a dry suit that will be to hot for summer, its great for march hunting,chi-town bruce has a drysuit and hes been in the lake in november.i have a 2mil wetsuit,a 5mil farmerjohn w/a 3mil jacket.www.leisurepro.com has 7mil famerjohns for about $140.00.i might get a drysuit eventually but fot the price of one drysuit,i bought different combos that i could mix or match depending on the weather.............i lied,it was more that one sentence

hope to se ya there PJ

Thanks Bomber, that's kind of what I was looking for... just the most notable differences.

Wet suit, rugged, cheaper. Dry suit, $$$ damage it and it's more $$$.
My dive club is going to South Carolina this summer to dive for Megalodon teeth in the Cooper river.
Bottles and other artifacts, Colonial and Indian can be found also. Then going to North Carolina to
dive on the German u-boats and other ships off the coast. If the gators in the river don't get you, then the
tiger sharks might that cruise the war wrecks off the coast.

Geez, and I thought the bluegills were bad....

Funny you should say that Lowbatts, Bluegills are notorious at Pearl lake in south Beloit IL,
for biting your nipples if you dive in the lake with no suit.

Who needs to go mushroom hunting when you can get your nipples bitten by sunfish?

Anybody game? :dontknow:

Yes I am aware of the bluegill's reputation for water sports stimulation. Exquisite little fishies, no?

When I was about twelve or thirteen there were a ton of bikers at the gravel pits here in Elgin. They'd call me "Frog" and make me go gettheir beer, which they kept cool by tossing into the cooler pits. One of them brought a gator out, maybe three or four feet long, fat with some big jaws and a large spiked collar.

Under threat of a serious a$$ whooping, they made me take him for a swim. I had quite a time with little fella before I finally got him back to shallow enough water for on the big guys take drag him back out.

Now if they only knew how many of their lost wads of cash I found while hunting their beer and swimming with their gator and avoiding their random shots.....

Dang if I didn't eat good as kid and spend a lot more than I earned.
