Scuba Gear & a Shovel or What?

Re: Scuba Gear & a Shovel or What?

You might try a two box detector, or a long probe rod if the rocks are loose enough.

Re: Scuba Gear & a Shovel or What?

Tried a two box and got strange results, then called the manufacturer and talked to a tech and he said water over 6" deep will cause problems for the two box. What next?

Re: Scuba Gear & a Shovel or What?

What size is the box ? ,A proton magnetometer Maybe? Depending on the type of rock they could cause a problem also . 4 feet of rock is a real problem for most detectors . I have a Fisher pulse 8 ,the old model like Mel and Dirk were using long ago in the Keys , if the target is big enough it will find it through 4 foot of rock, but the target would have to be BIG. Cannon big. If you know the location try moving the rock out of the area .Good Luck ... so close- yet so far

Re: Scuba Gear & a Shovel or What?

The box I am told is the size a small suitcase 1'x1.5'x2.5' made of metal and filled with metal.

Re: Scuba Gear & a Shovel or What?

This sounds more like real work. A Magnetometer would work but it would also find anchors and 55 gal. rusted drums. If you know about where, your only other options are a hookah rig for air and manually moving the rocks to get nearer the bottom. Having played this game off the Fl. coast, it's work, something best left alone unless the metal inside the box is gold. Then you have the problem of lifting this thing and it won't be light. But it would be fun anyway. Good luck and keep quiet about it.

Re: Scuba Gear & a Shovel or What?

I do not think you would have to worry about other items in this area. It contains just the item I am looking for.
