Spending the weekend in the Outer Banks of NC. Detecting the beach an hour or two every day. Slow going, but awesome weather and fun times with the family.

This afternoon was out on the beach in front of the condo and a young man, early 20's came running down the beach. He said that he had lost his necklace and wanted to know if I would help. I said sure and as we walked down the beach he explains that he just finished the Marines Scout Sniper school and was given a special bullet "Hogstooth" that are given to graduates to be worn on a necklace. As we get to the area I can see the track marks were he and his parents had gridded the area. He pointed to were he lost the necklace and 2 minutes later my all to familiar bullet (I have dug hundreds of hunters bullets in the PA woods) signal and out pops his necklace.

They were super excited and it was a cool moment.
Not much else from the beach, but one decent plated ring.

Thanks. Sort of felt like a rock star when the crowd came over to see the hole when I pulled my pinpointer out and then raised the necklace. People were actually clapping.

Yup, that never gets old!

Nice good deed for a young man serving his country and keeping us safe. A very fitting story for Memorial Day. Great job.:headbang::occasion14::notworthy::icon_thumright:
