Ya that's the aluminum. Maybe you could get some tape wrap like they use on tennis rackets. They stay on pretty good.

gorilla tape

Didn't take ya long to figure that out, did it? :laughing7:

Sorry, I got 2 RTG scoops,
I'm usually hunting in the water, that seems to keep my hands clean.
or cleaner than...... :laughing7:

Good luck with your dilemma, I just deal with it...... :dontknow:

Get creative and use plasti dip. Many colors to choose from. So yes another vote for just dip it.

I was thinking a cheap rattle can of clear coat.

I use the Coach/ Johnson and Johnson 1 1/2 inch white sports tape: do 4 or 5 wraps at the very top of the handle, then spiral down overlapping by 50 % , then do several wraps at the very bottom of the handle. The tape will stick better if you degrease the handle with rubbing alcohol first. Drawing a black permanent marker line down the front of the handle will help keep it oriented in the water.

The white tape discolors over time, but it serves its purpose.

I always wear gloves. Stops the black creep.

I remember those days, my shoulder would be stained black also...

I wear a thin black glove with rubberized palm - very useful in south florida to pick up man o wars and other jelly fish plus hands
don't turn black - saves finger nails from getting chewed up in the coral too

PM me - I'll send you a pair - I'm a die hard RTG user myself
will be heading down to SE Fla. in a few weeks

Gotta do the "Michael Jackson!" :skullflag:

I use those gloves in Georgia, cleaning up pine tree limbs with sap all over them,
never thought to swim with them. :laughing7: left them sap covered things up there, too :BangHead:

Bring an extra pair..... :laughing7:
and pm me when your here, see where's a good meet-up spot!
(pls don't say Miami, lol) :laughing7:
Don't you have a prize for me? :icon_scratch: :laughing7:

Hey Terry, Saw the one-glove, I would go glove first and then tape second ( I always have gloves in the car). I did have to ask, are you checking to see what a buried dozer might sound like on you machine??? Kinda looks like it. Better get a bigger scoop and heavier gloves to get that out of the sand! lol

Powder coat the handle. It can be done in clear or any color you like. Im sure you can find a powder coat shop in your area. If you were close to me I could do it for you.

Thanks for the replies, I taped it up today and hope to try it out in a day or so. Thank you Casper for the offer, I have a few pairs but my boys always grab them and loose the wrong one. I will let you guys know how it goes. :occasion14:

THING I LIKE ABOUT THESE - the rubber on palms gets tacky (I don't know why) in saltwater and helps with grip - when they dry they turn back to normal
like I said down there I run into a lot of man o wars and can just throw them or push aside with gloves
