I plan to attend a few of these events 
Schuylkill County nature walks and hikes schedule(more to see than just nature)

DKinPA & I met Mcsurdy in Swatara State park one day
While we were Detecting.
He talked to us for hours about Local history.
A bit Long Winded but VERY Knowledgable.
Any of his tours whould be worth taking.
Not sure about McKinney, Although I think he did do
a Gold Panning Introduction out in the Friedensburg area a few years ago. I heard about it after though.
