Today I managed to get in about an hour long hunt at the same schoolyard as the other day. Today I concentrated on searching a strip of grass between the parking lot and the playground. In that hour I plucked $1.76 in clad (I thought I had found my first silver coin but unfortunately it was just a super clean 1987 quarter 2" down), the trunk key to an old Ford vehicle, and this neat little Mexican 1976 cinco centavo coin. Its the same size as a dime and it was down about 7-8" but it rang up pretty clear in the coin zone on my BH. I thought it was a dime when I got it out of the hole but then I saw the eagle on the back and got super excited!! My first foreign coin!! It's not old or anything, but to me it's the bee's knees! No idea what a coin from Mexico is doing buried 8" under the surface in WA, but it's mine now! All mine I tell ya! aug16b.jpgaug16a.jpgaug16c.jpg

Congrats on your finds Hendo! :occasion14:
When you said you found your "first foreign coin" I thought for sure it was going to be a Canadian Penny! :laughing7:

Haha yeah considering Canadia is a scant few hours north of here, and Mexico is a looooong journey south!

its exciting to dig anything that you never had before and the foreign coins tend to be unexpected, some are really wild far off places. congrats and may you find many more
