Got this at an old ford site used from the 1840's through the 1860's. Length would be about 4 1/4 inches in length if straight and it appears to be brass. The split and crack on the side give it the curved look. Yea or nea on a scabbard tip?

The curve and cracks in it are consistent with what I see on scabbarbs at Civil War re-enactment events. It comes from sitting down while you're wearing the scabbard on your belt and jamming it into the ground. Eventually they break off.

But I don't know what kind of bayonet had that kind of pointy tip on the scabbard. So my guess is yes, it is a scabbard tip but I can't say from what type of rifle. I'm sure one of the gun guys will chime in.
