Went to the 1700's home field today. Spent a couple hours swinging in the area behind where the house used to be. It wasn't going well at all.

On the way back to the car I swung over a 72 with the ACE Apex. Turned out to be a jingle bell.

Still working on dating the bell. I'm looking at modern since the throat doesn't end in circular openings. Maybe a rivet or screw mount. Whatever was up there was iron. It still jingles!

Was out in the early 1900's home part of the field on Thanksgiving Day morning. Those items were coated in mud from the previous days rain. They're still drying. Mostly iron. I'll post those later this weekend.

Thanks for looking...

Nice!!!! Congrats!!!!

According to ClassicBells.com, the bell looks to be a "picket fence" style made by William E. Barton or The Barton Bell Company in the late 1890's.

Nice recovery on the bell and ID.
It's one I haven't dug in these parts as of yet.
Most of the Jingles are from the thinner stamps brass and not casted as these.
