A sunny day here yesterday so we headed out to a new field, as ever our hopes were high, this field is opposite the alleged Roman Villa field, next to the Barn fields where we found loads of coins and tesserae….. but hmm I found one Crusty Roman coin but field was surprisingly quiet?
Never mind we had a lovely day and the views were stunning! 😍 xx

No idea what this first item is it’s too big to be a thimble .. but is thimble shaped! Then a lead weight, couple of muskets and lead rolls, crushed thimble, a strange disk, too big to be a coin ? Buttons, pretty button, toasted coins, 1862 half penny, a toasted penny and a thru penny bit!

Heading back out today to the fields near the pond, the clock is ticking as fields getting planted now! 😅 xx

Still you got out digging and recovered some history.
The first thing is lead?
Possible bullet that turned into some trench art?

I need to turn the lights on, getting a little dark in here.😁

Great finds blossom! You two never cease to AMAZE!

Congrats. So many recoveries of oldies!

Is fertilizer burn showing on your coins ? They look different than usual.

First item looks like a dipper for honey.
Still not used to seeing the tidy rolled lead. Maybe there was more than a utilitarian thing going on with it , like the more common sight of hem weights.

Great hunt. and site. And scenery.

@pepperj @Blackfoot58 and @releventchair

Here is the first object on my Thumb to answer how big and is it hollow…! 😆 and yes these fields are very ironstoney so I think that helps destroy the coins, but I’ve given the crusty ones to himself as he has the gear and patience to give it a go! Xx

I'm more impressed with those claws.
So clean, no breaks.
I think you have a man-digging the holes.🤣
That is a different recovery for sure.

Made of what?

Ha they do suffer, but wear gloves so no man required/available! 😂 I’m not sure, not lead, almost like a hard/ robust tin alloy…🤔 xx
