Well it was beside a bunch of trees, and he left a note saying there was naughty yank up in Maine that he was going to leave this warn, holed silver 3 Cent to, but he said screw that, left him coal and let me break my curse! :headbang:

My other coin is a crusty 1812 One Penny. I wanted a copper but just could not get over any real decent signals, but on the way out I finally got it. It came in a spot i got another large copper years ago so may have to walk around there a little more next time.

The bird livery is a match for another I got when I first started hunting there, and that was so long ago I wasn't even sure what kind of button it was. Probably my first year, so it was sort of cool seeing another pop up.

But the best of my day, the Rev War RP button with the shank still intact. Always happy to find one of these.

2014 Silver Coin total: 1! :tongue3:

Great way to end the drought. It seems Spanish shows up a little more often than the 3 centers. This weather is something, isn't it? I hope to get out tomorrow too. GL on your next one.

You did it. I bet you can double that silver total for 2015. :laughing7:

Killer RP you dug too!

Nice Digs Patch, I thought your first silver was going to be a 64 Rosie :laughing7:, but at least you beat that and the CURSE is broken :occasion14:

Great job IP! The rev war button is awesome! It still ticks me off having to read Abe's posts. "Aww geez, I guess I'll have to take a break from my 17th century sites and go to those "NEW" 18th century sites to see if I can find a rev war button" Makes me sick, and when that happens another pin goes into mini Abe. Hope you are able to get out some more this year.

Very nice finds IP. The trime is an awesome way to end the year. GL&HH.

I guess we may know the answer to your year long curse....could be the company you keep lol.
Glad you made it out and had something to show for it, even though it may not have been what you would have liked to have found , it's sure better than some stuff you could have found to get on the board.
There's still some goodies hiding out in the hollow there, great to see your old stomping grounds haven't dried up completely

Nice 3 cent'er to save the year! Congrats! Awesome you got your button with the shank still on it!
Your persistence paid off! (Don't give Ahab8 any more coal he's probably turning it into a diamond!)

It's good you are getting out. I haven't managed to get out in almost 2 weeks.....my front yard is looking pretty good about now!

Told you it wasn't over till it is over.

And that is a tough little coin to find in the dirt.

That is why I have not made a year end post, even though I may not actually get another dig. (tear)

Not dried up but close enough to not to want to go back. The modern trash doesn't help either because all the strays are now pull tabs. The finds weren't bad at all, but if you were to see how it all played out you'd likely think the same way as I do.... That ain't gonna happen again!

I'm hoping the change that got me the silver was the coil! :laughing7:

Yeah the end is near for sure, but I tell ya I don't have many, if any, regrets. I had quite a few ideas 2 months ago and never thought we'd get to them all, but week by week we kept crossing them off and making some finds along the way. I'm down to one last plan, so I think a little Winter research will have to happen before we fire the coils up again.

I just thought of somewhere that we didn't hit after writing that, and I bet that will likely happen again because I often have an idea and it gets lost in my brain for a few months at a time. :)

Congrats on your finds, love the look of the 'holed' 3-Cent Piece!
I think holed coins are much more special to find, as the owner took the time to punch a hole in it to keep it from getting lost.

I've only found one 'holed' coin in 4 years, it was an 1861 NS One-Cent I found here in Ontario!
